Park Street Manor, Luton

Park Street Manor is a multi dwelling development in Luton, Bedfordshire. Situated on previously developed land, our design for this site offers both sustainable residential and commercial units. During the process, our planning team worked to achieve a contemporary sustainable living and working space; offering 19 residential flats in a mix of 1,2 & 3 beds with the entire Ground Floor being offered as office space with onsite parking. The site is located only a short walk from Luton high street and is also in close proximity to Luton airport.

At Park Street, our aim was to bring sustainability, energy efficiency and reduced cost of living & working through the use of sustainable technologies and modern design to enhance the local area. Our design team focussed on creating an environment where people could live without requiring vehicles; with its central location and incorporating ground floor offices there is the opportunity for occupants to live and work in the same building, promoting sustainable living. The front facade of the building includes modern projections to generate views from the living rooms whilst also creating privacy between flats. To increase thermal efficiency, the building is constructed using steel and concrete structure with SIPS panels, which reduce on site building time, site waste and air pollution due to reduced site traffic. Unlike the majority of flatted schemes Our development will incorporate large communal and private roof terraces allowing all occupants outside green space; enhancing local biodiversity and increase CO2 capture. Solar panels will be located on the top roof providing electricity to the flats and offices, reducing the carbon footprint of the building. Millen is committed to using renewable energy in all developments and no longer use gas boilers, all flats run off air source heat pumps. All car parking spaces have electric car charging points for electric vehicles.
